Philippines Diving Destinations

The Philippines has some incredible diving. You can see almost everything on your "to see" list and much, much more.  From whale sharks down to pygmy seahorses, the Philippines has it all.

The Philippines is becoming famous in diving circles as a superb destination, but it is still relatively untouristed, so now is a great time to come. Once divers have been to the Philippines for their first time, they tend to come back again and again.

But if sharks are your thing, there are two main destinations you should hit: Malapascua and Donsol. We can arrange a package to include either or both.

Malapascua Island

If you are looking for one place to dive within the Philippines, Malapascua Island has some of the most diverse diving you can find. If you only have a limited amount of time and/or money to spend, Malapascua offers you a good cross-section of marine life in the Philippines and is a great choice for your diving dollars.

As well as the famous and unique thresher shark cleaning station, they regularly get other large pelagics like giant manta rays, hammerhead sharks, and devil rays.
They have a good variety of dive sites including soft coral reefs, walls, muck dives, wrecks and technical dive sites. All sites boast amazing macro life.

North Philippines Diving

Around the Manila area there are several famous dive spots including

  • Anilao for macro
  • Puerto Galera
  • Subic Bay for wrecks. ...
  • Donsol and Ticao Island - great for diving as well as whale sharks

 

Central Philippines Diving

In the Visayas regions there is a lot to choose from including

  • Bohol - including Balicasag with its beautiful walls and schools of jacks and barracudas
  • Moalboal - Beautiful wall dives, particularly at Pescador Island. Possible sightings of whale sharks, whitetip sharks and turtles.
  • Dumaguete and Apo Island - Dumaguete is famous for its muck diving. Nearby Apo Island is one of the success stories of marine protected areas in the Philippines with several beautiful dive sites.
  • Palawan and Coron for WWII wrecks
